Long story short: It was heavily edited and I wasn’t satisfied with the published version.
I’m ok with it, don’t get me wrong. The client had the right to do so. And very good reasons that had nothing to do with me.
But, it doesn’t showcase my best writing. And professional photographers only show you their best pictures.
Then I thought, maybe I’m not particularly proud of the piece, but it does showcase other qualities. It shows that I’m a team player and I don’t take edits personally.
It is what it is, let’s work.
About the article, first things first: Magento is an Ecommerce software. It’s also a SaaS if you take that option.
Let’s start with the basics. The first Magento 2 version came out on November 17, 2015. The behemoth Adobe acquired the company in 2018. With its resources and expertise, the platform is expected to grow exponentially. According to Hosting Tribunal: “over 250,00 active sites use Magento”, but “only 11,000 of those run on Magento 2.”
This space has been a little quiet lately, but hey… I got hired to ghostwrite a big-big project and I’ve been working on getting my writing published in other platforms. The latest accomplishment in that regard are these little pieces for the “microdoses” section in Metapsychosis, arguably the most complex and perplexing site around.
“We are all living in a cognitive-dissonance reality. We want to live a certain way or do a certain thing, and we don’t because we are emotionally attached to how the group thinks. The hive mentality takes over. But you know what’s right in your mind and your heart, and if you’re strong enough to detach from the hive then sometimes, just sometimes, you may be able to do the right thing.”
For the untrained eye it would seem like this blog is failing. I opened it a year ago and my posts have zero traction, I’ve only gathered a few followers and I seldomly update it. The detail you’re all missing has always been clear and in the open, the objective of this publication is to find honest jobs for me out there in the wilderness of the Internet. I announced it. Twice. In that regard, the success is evident. I’ve been working, and that’s the main reason things have been so quiet around here.
